Breaking News — Heavy rains kill 36 in northern India

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. (The Tide) — At least 36 people have been killed by recent relentless rains in the northern Indian state of Rajasthan in the heaviest rainfall there since 1981.

The army has been called in to help in aid and rescue actions in the worst-hit districts in India, including Jaipur and Sikar. The army was deployed to Jaipur first, where thousands of people were evacuated from their damaged homes, many of which were on the verge of collapse.
