Update: Lance doing well following colon surgery

BIRMINGHAM — Alabama Baptist State Board of Missions Executive Director Rick Lance underwent colon surgery late afternoon Sept. 17 at a Montgomery-area hospital and is reported to be doing well. Lance said the surgery was to repair a colon tear caused by diverticulitis.

According to family sources, his surgeon reports that Lance’s medical condition is excellent. Family members expressed gratitude for ongoing prayer support. As expected, plans are for Lance to remain hospitalized for most of this week and then continue recovery at home. (TAB)
