Lance getting excellent care, SBOM officials say

BIRMINGHAM (TAB) — Alabama Baptist State Board of Missions (SBOM) officials report that SBOM Executive Director Rick Lance is getting excellent care and making good progress after undergoing colon surgery late afternoon Sept. 17 at a Montgomery-area hospital. The surgery was to repair a colon tear caused by diverticulitis.

Lance expressed appreciation for the gestures of love and prayer support coming from so many.

“A big thank you to all for the thoughtfulness he has experienced,” said Mary Sue Bennett, special assistant to the executive director.

  1. Rev. Tony savage says:

    Bro. Lance
God speed in your recovery but an added note
Take this time not as a trivial event. Im a thirty year Ostomy patient. Have encountered many who refuse to listen to their bodies. But the multitude of scars my survival and all it’s complications have afforded me opportunity of witness. One such of a pastor who was going to relinquish all ministry but ad I spoke to him testifying of 30 years as a deacon youth minister now a pastor God can use us and the testimony of walking thru that valley. He is now more vibrant and his church is doing 12 point life rescue for addicts etc. I appreciate Dr. lance and we like Paul all experience the fact we are still in the flesh. But may we always thank God for the thorns more than the roses. Yours in Christ bro. Tony
