BREAKING NEWS — Local disaster relief teams assist in Mobile

MOBILE (TAB) — Thomas Wright, director of missions for Mobile Baptist Association, reported that six areas were hit by a tornado (or multiple tornadoes) in the Mobile area Dec. 25. He confirmed that Trinity Episcopal Church on Dauphin Street, Mobile, endured damage.  Alabama Baptist State Board of Missions (ALSBOM) Disaster Relief Strategist Mel Johnson said in an email, “[Alabama Baptist Disaster Relief] determined that we will follow through with local teams to assist residents in the Spring Hill area and perhaps others as we make our way into impact zones.” There are currently 7,500 without power and numerous businesses and homes with damage, Johnson confirmed.
“Our missions, as always, will be to make contact with homeowners and to offer assistance,” Johnson said.

Updates will be posted here and at TAB‘s Facebook page
