Gardendale man indicted on child sex charges

BIRMINGHAM (TAB) — Joel Kent Hodges, a former worship leader at Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church, Gardendale, has been indicted on charges of soliciting a child under 16 for sex and traveling to meet the child, reported. Hodges, who was arrested Dec. 28, 2012, was released three days later.
