BIRMINGHAM (TAB) — Joel Kent Hodges, a former worship leader at Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church, Gardendale, has been indicted on charges of soliciting a child under 16 for sex and traveling to meet the child, al.com reported. Hodges, who was arrested Dec. 28, 2012, was released three days later. The Jefferson County grand jury did not indict him until August 2013 and did not file the indictments in the state’s online court system until mid-November, according to al.com.
