FBC Birmingham works to ‘bear one another’s burdens’

BIRMINGHAM (TAB) — First Baptist Church, Birmingham, held a concert Jan. 26 as a step toward normalcy after a tragedy happened more than six months ago with the killing of Karen Shahan, wife of former children and families pastor Richard Shahan. Joseph Hopkins, interim worship leader, and his wife, Suzanne, led the concert titled “An Evening of Praise.” Cyndy James, facilities administrator for the church, told al.com, “We’re trying to move forward as a church. I’d say it’s getting back to normal.”
