HOUSTON (TAB) — The Houston church of famed prosperity gospel preacher Joel Osteen lost $600,000 over the weekend, according to www.christianitytoday.com. According to a statement sent to church members, someone stole cash, checks and credit card information from Lakewood Church’s safe. Members were urged to monitor their accounts for fraud. Lakewood’s statement read in part, “The funds were fully insured, and we are working with our insurance company to restore the stolen funds to the church. … It is important to note this was note an electronic data breach, but was instead limited to donations made in the services on March 8 and 9, 2014.”
