New missionaries say yes to God’s invitation; 59 appointed

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (TAB, BP) — Fifty-nine new international missionaries who come from a wide array of personal and professional backgrounds — including a surgeon, a petroleum engineer and a would-be comedian — were recently appointed by International Mission Board (IMB) trustees at First Baptist Church, Spartanburg, S.C.
During the service, IMB President Tom Elliff spoke, citing Matthew 11:28–30.
The next missionary appointment service will be Aug. 27 at Colonial Heights Baptist Church in Virginia (also known as The Heights Baptist Church).
