MOUNT VERNON, Ga. (TAB, BP) — Frank S. Page, Southern Baptist Convention Executive Committee president, lost his daughter to suicide in 2009 so he had a unique opportunity to speak with Ergun Caner to offer his condolences after Caner’s son, Braxton Caner, 15, reportedly committed suicide July 29. Ergun Caner is president of Brewton-Parker College in Mount Vernon, Ga.
