Displaced Iraqis find help in BGR

IRAQ (TAB, BP) — In the midst of crisis Baptist Global Response (BGR) has been focused on helping families in need across Iraq, some 250,000 displaced people, even beyond the Yazidi community. As Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) militia overran the cities of Mosul, Tikrit and Tel Afar, more than 200,000 people fled, many with nothing more than the belonging they could carry, according to a BGR partner. The BGR efforts focus on providing survival supplies to new arrivals and helping displaced families launch businesses that can provide for their long-term needs. BGR partners have helped groups of refugees begin developing small businesses that will support their families.
