Former Muscle Shoals youth minister arrested for rape, sodomy

MUSCLE SHOALS, Ala. (TAB) — A former youth minister at Woodward Avenue Baptist Church, Muscle Shoals, was arrested Aug. 20 in Texas on charges of 22 counts of rape and nine counts of sodomy, according to various media reports. Charles Kyle Adcock, 31, served as the youth minister at Woodward Avenue Baptist from 2008 to 2012. At press time, Muscle Shoals police were in the process of extraditing Adcock from the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Will Rushing, senior pastor of Woodward Avenue, said the news has hit the congregation hard and has asked Alabama Baptists to pray for wisdom and healing for the church and for the victim.
