NAIROBI, Kenya (BP, TAB) — Today marks the ongoing fight against HIV, a virus that 35 million people around the world live with. Of those, 19 million don’t know they have the virus, according to BBC News. To combat the disease, Baptist Global Response (BGR) partnered with CARE for AIDS in Kenya as well as other organizations to fund and distribute hospice kits as part of The Bucket Project. In the last two years, BGR has sent nearly 6,000 kits containing bed sheets, vitamins, socks and more to people in the Sub-Saharan Africa. This is a region where 24.7 million people lived with HIV in 2013. BGR asks Southern Baptists to pray for those around the world who live with this disease.
