Secret Church no longer at Brook Hills due to threat, officials unable to comment

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (TAB) — The Church at Brook Hills, Birmingham, will not be hosting the approximately 2,000 people for its Secret Church event tonight after a “security threat” was called in to the church around 10:30 a.m. causing an evacuation of about 150 people, according to officials at Radical, David Platt’s nonprofit organization that seeks to provide discipleship resources to churches. Police and fire personnel were on the scene. Radical officials are unable to comment on the nature or source of the threat since the investigation is ongoing.

Those who were planning to attend the Brook Hills simulcast, titled “Christ, Culture and A Call to Action,” have received an email with information on the simulcast’s new location.
