One of today’s most prolific nonfiction book authors and a leading author of novels set in Amish country — Karen Moore and Cindy Woodsmall — will give the keynote addresses at the 2015 Southern Christian Writers Conference (SCWC). It will be held June 5–6 in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
The SCWC is one of the largest writing workshops in the nation. Designed for both beginning and experienced writers, it includes instruction on writing and publishing books, magazine articles, novels and other topics. Sessions are geared to writers interested in both religious and secular publishing.
Along with Moore and Woodsmall, 16 other speakers, including The Alabama Baptist executive editor Jennifer Davis Rash, will be on the program. They include book publishers, literary agents, magazine editors and writers, novelists and others.
Moore has written more than 60 books and has worked with leading publishers such as Simon & Schuster, Thomas Nelson and Abingdon Press. She also has published nearly 10,000 greeting cards.
Woodsmall has written 15 novels and has won numerous awards. Her novels have made both the New York Times and USA Today best sellers lists. In 2013 the Wall Street Journal profiled her as one of the top three Amish fiction writers in America.
