The 2015 Gridiron Men’s Conference is coming to Birmingham on Father’s Day weekend and will feature New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees as one of the speakers. Held at the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex on June 19–20, the mission of Gridiron is to encourage and challenge men to serve their families and communities.
“Gridiron operates on the understanding that every man has a sphere of influence that can be leveraged for ministry,” said author and evangelist Phil Waldrep in a news release. “Gridiron brings speakers from diverse fields and backgrounds to share their wisdom and perspective.”
Joining Brees in speaking at the event are Waldrep; David Jeremiah, author and pastor of Shadow Mountain Community Church, El Cajon, Calif.; Fred Luter, former president of the Southern Baptist Convention; Ben Carson, 2015 presidential hopeful and retired neurosurgeon; and David Uth, pastor of First Baptist Church, Orlando. Christian artist Charles Billingsley will lead the music.
“Each of our speakers has a distinct passion for equipping men to serve their families and communities well,” Waldrep said. “Plus, sometimes it’s just great to get together with other men and talk about life.”
