More than 200 Syrian Christians feared captured by ISIS

QARYATAIN, Syria (TAB) — About 230 Christians have gone missing after clashes in and around Syria’s Qaryatain village, and a group monitoring the war fears they have been captured by ISIS, NBC News reported Aug. 7.

The list of Christians who were unaccounted for was put together by the Church in Homs, who were helping villagers escape the battle, said Nuri Kino, president of Demand for Action, a group that works on behalf of religious minorities in Syria.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights also reported that at least 230 people had been kidnapped, some from a monastery, according to NBC News.

In previous months, ISIS has killed or kidnapped many members of religious minorities, including 250 Christians who were abducted in February from northeast Syria.
