Wanda Lee announces retirement from national WMU

12466157_1023959570979916_7825709147563351313_oTALLADEGA (TAB) — National Woman’s Missionary Union (WMU) Executive Director Wanda Lee announced her retirement today during the organization’s January board meeting at Shocco Springs Baptist Conference Center in Talladega.

Lee has been at the helm of national WMU in Birmingham for 16 years and served as its president from 1996 to 2000 prior to her appointment as executive director. Lee also has served as the president of Georgia WMU and was a member and chair of the finance committee of the National WMU executive board.

In a post on national WMU’s Facebook page, it said, “We are grateful for her leadership for the past 16 years and her commitment to a seamless transition. We ask for your prayers as we seek the Lord’s direction in this process.”

A search committee will be appointed to seek a successor.
