Reflecting on God’s grace 5 years after April 27, 2011, tornadoes

BIRMINGHAM (TAB) — Five years ago today tornadoes ripped through the state, causing massive devastation and changing the lives of countless Alabamians.

In a video by the Alabama Baptist State Board of Missions (SBOM), Tim Haney, pastor of First Baptist Church, Phil Campbell, reflects on that time and God’s providence both during and after the storms. To view the video, click here.

We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair;  persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. …  For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal” (1 Cor. 4:8–9, 17–18).
