TRUSSVILLE (TAB) — With the theme “Speak,” based off of Ephesians 4:15, the annual Youth Evangelism Conference (YEC) began July 22. Youth groups from churches across Alabama gathered at First Baptist Church, Trussville, for a weekend of worship, training and truth.

Tyler Core, minister to students for First, Trussville, opened the night in prayer and welcomed the Atlanta-based worship band The Museum which led the evening in music.

Walt Barnes, assistant Baptist Student Union director for Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College Jefferson Davis campus in Gulfport, Mississippi, opened the night sharing from Revelation 1. He emphasized how much Jesus loves the Church and the power He holds over Satan.

The night ended with an energetic concert by Christian hip hop artist FLAME that had most of the youth bouncing to the music and literally shaking the church floors.
