
In 1843, Gen. E.D. King, one of the founders of The Alabama Baptist, donated space in his law office in Marion, Alabama, to house the new publication. The building was moved to the campus of nearby Judson College in 1997 and serves as a historical reminder of the important role the Marion community played in Alabama Baptist history.

Today, The Alabama Baptist operates from a spacious office building located at 3310 Independence Drive in Birmingham, Alabama. Construction on the building was completed in June 1976 under the leadership of Editor Hudson Baggett for whom the building is named.

According to the March 24, 1874, issue of The Alabama Baptist, a reader wrote, “I love to see the name The Alabama Baptist and read it. I want it to remain as long as the rivers run to the ocean.”
